And they said Moses suffered [permitted] to write bill of divorcement, to put her away [dismiss] Mark 10:4
Divorce is something that God hates, but He will allow it according to the circumstances such as any form of abuse and adultery, but even in these cases, it should be brought to God prior to filing for a divorce. Divorce has come about because our desires are not being met, we have fallen out of love with our spouse or we just don’t want to be married anymore. (more…)
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder – Matthew 19:6
The Pharisees try to tempt Jesus with a difficult question. They wanted to test His wisdom with one of the most controversial questions of their day regarding divorce according to the Mosaic Law but Jesus refers them to God’s original purpose in creation, that they should be “one flesh” indicates that being one flesh is one new entity, and is not limited to sexual union. Emotions are strong, complex internal responses that result in bodily changes. There are sometimes helpful and at other times hurtful. They come in positives and negatives. They are not evil, but they also are not holy.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ sake hath forgiven you – Ephesians 4:31-32.
Marriage is work, this maybe why some have forsaken the principals of God and live together without making the marriage vow. A vow is something that shouldn’t be broken. A marriage takes one hundred percent from both partners. When we give our all and not be selfish or self-centered, the marriage will thrive, and it was last for a lifetime. (more…)
