And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught (anything) against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive you your trespasses – Mark 11:25-26.

Most people have trouble with forgiveness, but it’s not something that can’t be accomplished. We can either choose to hold on to unforgiveness, or we can choose to forgive, and when we do, it releases us.

Some people think they have the right to hold on to unforgiveness, and they think when they pray, their prayers will be answered, but according to the Scriptures, the prayers will not be answered because the individual is holding on to unforgiveness when the Bible has instructed to forgive.

It does not matter whether you’re a believer or non-believer; God’s Word has the authority, and it will work on the non-believer as just as it does for the believer. Some of the causes of emotional imbalance are because of unforgiveness, not all, but some.

Prayers are hindered and not answered because of holding on to unforgiveness. Unforgiveness is like cancer or leprosy; it spreads, destroying the body, soul, and spirit. When we forgive, we release others as well as ourselves.

Forgiveness is important in the life of professing Christians; if we don’t forgive others, God will not forgive us causing us to have a broken relationship with the Father. No one is worth losing your relationship with the Father, the One that will always be with you and has all power in His hands.

Unforgiveness is also damaging to our physical well-being. It works on damaging the internal organs. Some sicknesses and diseases are because of unforgiveness; once sickness and disease finish destroying the heart, and you die, you will automatically be in hell because your trespasses have not been forgiven by God.

However, you have been wronged; it’s not worth spending eternity in hell! It’s not worth having your prayers not answered; it’s not worth you losing your relationship with God. If you choose to forgive and ask God to help you forgive, He will enable you to do so.

What you choose will determine how your life will be and where you will spend eternity!
