The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd – Ecclesiastes 12:11.

As a Christian woman, you can’t seek advice from everyone. Yes, there are those God has filled with wisdom, and they have not accepted Christ as of yet, but seek those who will lead you in the right direction and not make your life miserable.

Now and then, we need to seek advice from others, but from those who bear good fruit. The Bible says, “You shall know them by their fruit.” They are those who have good fruit; living secularly, but have good character.

Gathering advice from social media is not a good idea. Receiving advice from many who don’t have a relationship with God can lead you down the wrong path. The advice of those who have a relationship with God will be given according to Scripture, not what they think or feel.

A consistent prayer life will help you to be more sensitive to the voice of God or His leading. If you can’t hear from Him, seek those who pray. Many marriages have been broken by listening to people advising them on what or what not to do. Some of them weren’t married, but tried to advise those who were.

God is concerned about everything that pertains to your life. He wants the best for you. Stop telling everyone your concerns and start telling God, the One who is genuinely concerned about your concerns and can do something about your concerns.

Many of our concerns can be found in the Scripture and through prayer. Sometimes we have to wait on God for the answer. When we want a quick fix, we seek out those who want to agree with us, even if it’s against God’s principles.

Waiting is a part of being a disciple of Jesus. Patience, which sometimes is the trying of your faith. If you wait for an answer from God, He will not hold any good thing from you (But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire [complete], wanting [lacking] nothing – James 1:4). Don’t be in a hurry to get an answer, when you do, the majority of the time it’s not the answer or the right advice.

If you seek advice, seek those who have good character. If you don’t know a person’s character, how do you know they are giving you the right advice? God has godly women who will pray with you in seeking the advice you need. When you want godly advice, God will not place someone in your life who will advise you in a way that you will miss God. Get good advice, godly advice!
