Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass – Psalm 37:5.

Elizabeth believed and didn’t ask questions when her husband told her an angel told him they were going to have a son, Zacharias didn’t believe, but Elizabeth believed!

The Bible states that Zechariah and Elizabeth were both righteous before God and walked in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. Elizabeth was barren and both she and her husband were at the age of producing a child was impossible.

Gabriel one of God’s messengers was sent to give Zacharias a message from God. The message was that his prayers had been heard and he and his wife would have a child. Zacharias questioned the angel because of their age and because of his unbelief he was speech impaired until the child was born.

On the eighth day when the child was to be circumcised, they called his name John, Elizabeth said not so, his name will be called John. She was following the instructions of the angel whereas Zacharias was questioning. When they asked the father, his tongue was loosened and he was able to say the child’s name would be John.

Elizabeth believed she would have a child as the angel had instructed. She didn’t think about her age or the age of Zacharias, she believed the report of the Lord. She believed that God could and would work in the impossible. She believed God could resurrect that which was dead.
