And Jesus, being full of the Holy Ghost, returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness Luke 4:1.
Wilderness is a place of barrenness, wild animals, uninhabited, a place where you’re the only one there for training.
Jesus allows His followers to experience the wilderness so that they can grow spiritually. So many times His people believe in Him, but they will not follow Him. There is a difference between being a believer and a follower.
Jesus wants His people to enjoy the full benefits of being a follower, so He allows different things to come into our lives to strengthen our faith. He wants us to grow spiritually so that we can be a blessing and encouragement to others.
Salvation is good, but He wants the anointing to be in our lives so that when the Adversary comes, and he will come, we will be able to stand strong in our faith and not return to the world. The adversary can’t take your faith, but you can give it to him, and that is what he uses.
Don’t lose faith because your prayer has not been answered; keep praying until you get an answer. Don’t allow the adversary to influence you that your prayers haven’t been heard or will not be answered. Sometimes the adversary will influence you that you have sinned or you’re not doing what God wants you to do because you haven’t heard His voice or felt His Spirit in a while.
You have to know for yourself, even if you don’t hear Him or feel Him, that He is with you because He has made a promise that He would never leave or forsake you. A teacher never talks to the student when they’re taking a test. After the test, the teacher talks to the student.
In order to go from glory to glory in Christ Jesus, we must put on the armor of God and fight the good fight of faith. We can’t be living partially in the world and partially in the church. Either we’re going to serve and worship God by His standards or we’re not.
God wants to see the Fruit of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit operating in our lives. If not, we’re not abiding in Him, but allowing the spirit of the world to abide in us. To be a follower of Jesus, you must spend time with Him in prayer, reading, and studying His Word. You can’t be a doer of the Word if you’re not a reader of the Word.
Your wilderness experience is giving you time to spend with Jesus and to get to know Him. When you come out of the wilderness, you will know more about the spirit realm, Jesus, and who you are in Him. You can’t fight for your family if you don’t know how to use the armor. Wilderness will teach you, anoint you, and keep you focused on the Master and not the things surrounding you.
Everyone experiences the wilderness when the Lord is taking them into different realms of the Spirit or helping them to have complete dedication to Him.
