And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have an aught [anything] against any: that your Father also is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses – Mark 11:25.

Before we can get an answer to our prayer, we must forgive whoever we may have an offense or unforgiveness towards.

As Christian women, we can’t ignore God’s Word and think we will get an answer to our prayers when we’re holding unforgiveness and offense towards others. We know within ourselves who they are and what they have done.

But if we want our sins to be forgiven and our prayers answered, we must forgive and release the person. It’s easier said than done, we have the choice to forgive, we can by the Spirit of God that dwells within us. If we choose to hold on to unforgiveness and offense, then God will allow us to keep them. He’s not going to make us forgive anyone we choose not to forgive, but doing so jeopardizes our relationship with God and Him forgiving us of things we have done and said.

Every time we take Communion, and we’re holding offenses and unforgiveness, it’s not acceptable in the sight of God because we’re disobeying His Word to forgive. When we forgive from our heart, we’re forgiven (So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive every one of his brothers their trespasses – Matthew 18:35). Jesus had just given a parable regarding a man who didn’t forgive, and He said the person would be delivered to the tormentors.

Sometimes people have emotional, mental, and behavioral disorders because of what they are holding in their hearts. Unforgiveness also brings about different ailments in the body. Most of all, if we hold on to unforgiveness and death or Jesus’ return, and we’re in that state, our destination would be hell.

Forgiveness is a choice; choose forgiveness so that you can have peace with God and your prayers answered.
