Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before – Philippians 3:13.
If the Lord’s will, we will see a new year, the old will pass, and we will look forward to a new month, a new year. We can’t hold on to the past but look forward to the new year with excitement.
If God allows us to see another year, many will make resolutions for the New Year; some can be accomplished, and others will not. Each year brings in a new season of tests and trials, but whatever the year brings, you must have a made-up mind that the Father is not allowing these things to be without having you in His mind for you to overcome them and be victorious.
Life is not a bed of roses, but you can smell like a rose in the sight of God when you allow Him to have His plans become your plans. This new year concentrates on your goals and leaves whatever life baggage brought you last year behind you. You can’t go forward if you’re looking behind you. Always invite the Father into your plans; He will instruct you to accomplish your goals and dreams when you acknowledge Him. God loves you, and He wants the best for you, and as for you, you should give Him your best, which will be a submitted life to Him.
Some lost loved ones, and they will never be forgotten, but don’t allow your loss to become your point of grief and mourning daily. It’s a time to grieve and mourn, but it’s also a time to let go of the grief and mourning and go forward with life. Sometimes grief and mourning will hinder you from going forward. You will be stuck in the past, unable to move forward. Letting go of the grief and mourning does not mean you didn’t love them; you know they would want you to let go and live life.
You may have lost a job or business, but don’t give up; God can help you replace what you lost, and it will be bigger and better than what you lost. God is the Author of your life; allow Him to come into the pages of your life, illustrating and giving ideas that will make your life better and brighter.
Let God be the center of your resolution if you’re making a New Year’s Resolution. God can open doors that you can’t. He can also close doors in your life that needs to be closed. Focusing on committing to God and purpose to reunite with family members and friends.
Bring in the New Year with Faith, not a bang!
