Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls – Matthew 11:28-29.
Trust is a firm belief in the honesty of another. Sadly, we place trust in everything and everyone except the One we can truly trust.
Sometimes people will disappoint you; it’s not because they tried, but things get out of hand, and they can’t keep their promise. People are forsaken sometimes when they have a long illness, and the caregiver is burnt out or no longer has the love they once had for the individual.
We can easily place our trust in the things we can see, but have a hard time trusting in those we can’t see. The things we can see are temporal, but the things we can’t see are eternal (While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal – 2nd Corinthians 4:18. Although we can’t see the Lord, He is a very present help in the time of need.
He welcomes the believer as well as the nonbeliever to come to Him with their problems, disappointments, pain, and heartaches. He will give you His peace while you’re going through difficulties. Jesus does not always intervene when we want Him to, but He will comfort you.
You can never go through anything too big or too small that He’s not concerned about. You can confide in Him the things concerning you, and He will listen, and He will comfort. We can’t always go to people with our problems because the majority of the time, they are going through something themselves.
We don’t have to be in a certain place or position to talk with the Lord; His ears are attentive to your prayer. He does not mix up your voice or your prayer with anyone else’s. Place your trust in the One who will always be there.
Sometimes things can hit us so hard that it seems as though our breath has been knocked out of us; that’s the time you need to take your tears and your concerns to Him. Trust Him, depend on Him, and He will do for you what you can’t do for yourself.
