Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staff they comfort me – Psalm 23:4.
Most of us do not desire to be in the valley, but in the valley is where we will grow in Spirit, wisdom and understanding for the natural and spiritual.
The Philistines had come to fight against Israel, but their enemies surrounded them. Their enemies sent their champion Goliath, a giant to intimidate the Israelites. His height and words made Saul’s army think they couldn’t defeat the giant.
Forty days later, Goliath harassed them with words to make them fearful and discouraged. This is what the adversary does with the people of God. He can’t influenced you to willingly disobey the instructions of God’s written Words so what he does, he speak to your mind and emotions to make one fearful and discouraged.
The Philistines and the Israelites were in the valley of Elah to battle. When you are in the valley, that’s not the time to get fearful and be discouraged. This is the time you bump up your prayer, bump up fasting. Speak the Word of God against the situation and circumstances.
The adversary will try everything he can to keep you from going forth. Keep in mind that the Lord will meet you in the valley. In the valley, He will strengthen you. In the valley, He will anoint you to fight the giant that comes against you and your family.
Water runs in the valley, representing rest, and be energized. This is where the Lord will strengthen you to continue starting a business, purchasing the home or car you desire or get a degree. The enemy has fought you with doubt and unbelief. He has brought circumstances into your life to delay your progress, but He can’t stop what God has placed in you; he can’t stop what God has promised you!
Welcome the valley experiences, where you learn how to fight in the spirit. Either you fight or lose. Don’t think because God has spoken destiny over your life, you will not have to fight to get there. When you fight, the Lord and heaven are backing you up. You can’t lose with the Lord on your side, you may have had a set-back or a delay, but it’s only temporarily!
