And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth – 2nd Kings 19:3.
Pregnancy is divided into 3 trimesters. Each trimester is a little longer than 13 weeks. The first month marks the beginning of the first trimester. Pregnancy symptoms consist of feeling tired, feeling bloated, urinating more frequently, mood swings, nausea, tender, and swollen breast, not a good feeling women go through to begin the birthing process.
Women have been given dual roles in childbearing, physically as well as spiritually. Just like having symptoms in birthing physically, spiritual birthing also comes with discomfort. There are times you want to sleep, and He says,” it’s time to pray”. You may want to get something special to eat, He says ” it’s time to fast”. You may want to watch your favorite television program, He says “it’s time to sit in my presence”. You’re in the birthing process, it’s time to remove all things that will distract you from what God is placing in your spirit to do.
When God places a spiritual birthing upon you, your appetite changes, you’re no longer focusing on your desires, your comfort, your needs, but you focus on bringing forth this spiritual baby and you’re willing to do whatever it takes to bring forth this baby.
Judah and Jerusalem had sinned against God and He allowed the Assyrians to come to destroy them, make them slaves. Because they rejected God and His status, they didn’t have the manpower or the strength to fight against their enemy. God placed them in a position where they couldn’t rely on anyone else but God. The God they rejected would be the One that would deliver them.
When God has given you an assignment, you’re not comforted or satisfied until you begin to get in the position He’s placing you in. Your spouse may not have been given the same assignment, but you can’t allow them to stop you from your assignment.
You have to get in a place where you can hear from God; you can’t hear God if the television is always on you can’t hear God, and if you’re continually looking at your phone or surfing the internet. You have to get in a quiet place and talk with Him and then wait on Him to talk to you. You see prayer is conversing with God and to hold a conversation both parties must talk.
If you make a decision to meet with God at a certain time and a certain place, keep your commitment, He doesn’t always talk, but if you sit in His presence, He will place something spiritual within your spirit and heart. As you are faithful to God, He then can trust you to give birth, He will give you the strength to birth spiritual babies, strength to birth a ministry, strength to birth a business. He will begin to talk to you and give you instructions on how to birth.
If you’re willing to go through the birthing process, God will give you the strength to birth, and not only will it be a blessing to you, but it will be a blessing to others.
