Come unto Me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and my burden is light – Matthew 11:28-30.

Labor is to have physical or mental exertion. Its to move slowly and with difficulty, to be burdened with liability or limitation. Labor also involves our spirituality which seems to be dormant. Many people labor to have a successful career, business, financial stability, but they leave out the most important person that will assist them to meet their goals.

Many labors in trying to keep their relationship with their spouse, friends, and family, but it seems no matter what they do the relationship is getting worse rather than better. Trying to raise children that is never grateful for what you do for them can be hurtful and painful.

Some are laboring in a religion that causes them to suffer under a load of religious responsibilities laid on them by a pastor or a denomination that causes a burden rather than peace and joy.

Jesus knew prior to our birth the things we would encounter during our life journey, and He calls all those that are laboring in pain, burdens, life issues, and distresses to bring their cares and concerns to Him. Jesus never intended for us to carry the burden of life ourselves this is why He has instructed those that are laboring to come to Him and give Him their burden.

When we accept Him as our Savior and Lord He walks with us through life issues. When we acknowledge Him in our daily life and affairs He becomes the Captain over our life and He teaches His followers how to become victors and not victims.

Life will never be a bed of roses but we can have peace in whatever comes in our lives, the peace that surpasses all human understanding. Seek God first and His righteousness and all the other things you’re laboring at will be yours with joy and peace.
