Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence and likewise also the wife unto the husband – 1st Corinthians 7:3.
Marriage is presented in the Bible as an essential aspect of social life. It is the outcome, and intention of God’s creation of mankind as male and female, counterparts of each other, capable of reproduction and indeed commanded to reproduce.
The Bible gives instructions on what is the responsibility of being a wife as well as being a husband. It is given over to regulating and teaching about marriage, especially in view of the contrast between the attitudes required of God’s people toward sex and human relationships and the attitudes of surrounding people.
Laws are made by the majority of what people think is right or okay, the majority of people feel like there is nothing wrong with having a boyfriend or a friend with the benefits of marriage, but in God’s view it’s wrong; that’s why He ordained marriage.
Marriage is beautiful, and it has been ordained by God. When one chooses to do as God has instructed whether they are a believer or non-believer, God’s blessings will be with them and their marriage. Just because God will bless your marriage does not mean there will not be times your marriage will not have challenges. But because you obeyed the Word of God by marrying, God will give you wisdom on how to keep peace within your marriage.
When challenges come to marriage, married women can pray for their marriage, whereas women who aren’t married can’t pray for God’s help when it’s against the Word of God. Secondly, when one has someone that is not their spouse, it’s sinning against the Word of God (Flee fornication, every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body – 1st Corinthians 6:18). Rather one is a believer or non-believer God’s Word will never return to Him void, the penalty of sin is spiritual death as well as physical death.
The first marriage was in the Garden of Eden, God created Eve for Adam, and it was ordained by God. Eve was not Adam’s girlfriend or his friend with benefits, she was his wife. If a man says he loves you, he should love you enough to marry you, provide for and protect you through your union as husband and wife. If children are involved, they will have a father in the home. No matter how good a woman is, she can never be a father.
There are more single mothers than married mothers, God did not want it to be that way. The man was created to be the provider, and when they slack their duties as a husband or father, they must answer to God. Going out of the boundaries of God’s principles also brings the mother and child heartache.
Children had no say in being produced, whether it was God’s way or the couple did it their way. But thank God for the mothers who give birth to their children without having a spouse or the man stepping up and being a father for what he produced. They are commended for jobs well done!
Marriage means a commitment to one woman without any outsiders. If you want the blessings of God on your relationship, do as He has commanded; marry! Christian women do not shack, they don’t have live-in lovers unless they are carnal Christians.
Ministers and Christian women admonish Christian women to live a life of abstinence if they’re not going to marry. This is to instruct them from receiving the wrath of God. For Christian women, knowing to do right and don’t do it is a sin. The wages of sin are death, both spiritually and naturally.
God loves you and created you to have sexual feelings towards the opposite gender, but He will not accept sexual gratification without marriage. Follow God’s instructions if you want the blessings of God. As a wife, you will receive the benefits of a wife if the spouse dies, but if you’re shacking, or have a live-in-lover, you will not receive anything nor can you fight the legal system to get what should be yours when the union is not on paper.
Seek God for His will in your life, and He will give you the desires of your heart. This is why you marry; the blessings of God will be with it! It’s better to marry than to burn because of rejecting God’s instructions.
