And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore – 1st Samuel 1:10.

Why do we want God to do something, but we will not take the time to pray about what we want Him to do for us?

If you take time and read the Bible, you see that God never moved on behalf of His people until they prayed. Satan has people thinking, well, He’s God, He knows what I need or want. Continue to think like that, and you will never receive what you want or need.

Hannah was a godly woman, but she couldn’t have children. She had an adversary by the name of Peninah, who was the second wife of her husband, who had children. She provoked Hannah daily about her not having children.

She provoked her to the point she lost her appetite. They were on their way to the house of the Lord, and Peninah was being herself, provoking and making Hannah feel less than a woman because she didn’t have children.

Hannah went into the house of the Lord and began to pour herself out in prayer. Eli saw her and thought she was drunk because he saw her lips moving, but sound came ou her mouth. Hannah was praying inwardly, but God heard the prayer.

Eli addressed her as one being drunken; Hannah explained to him that she was not drunken but a woman of sorry, and she had poured out her soul to the Lord. Eli, after hearing what Hannah was going through, told her to go in peace and that God was going to answer her petition.

Hannah and her family returned home, and the Lord remembered Hannah, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, and he was one of the earliest of the great Hebrew prophets after Moses and the last judge of Israel.

Who is your adversary? Is it your bills, health, marriage, children, employer, finances? God is not going to move in the situation until you begin to pray about it. God is One who answers prayers, and He is not One who moves within a problem until hears someone calling for His help in their problems.

Your problem may be at the point of death; it may have died, but the Lord our God resurrects dead things. If you need help or want help, you’re going to have to ask for His help. When He hears your prayers, then He will come into the circumstance.

Hannah had been provoked by the adversary for a long time before she decided to pour her heart out to the Lord. How long will you continue to allow the adversary to provoke you before you humble yourself and begin to ask the Lord for help?

There is nothing too hard for God. He is the Creator of all things; if it’s not in the earthly realm, He can speak it into existence. If you want it, you going to have to pray for it; without prayer, you receive NOTHING! Some prayers are answered instantly, and some you will have to wait and continue to pray about it; your prayers will be answered.
