Helping Women Build their Faith and Relationship with God

Agreement

Again I say unto you, That if two of you agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven – Matthew 18:19.

Prayer of agreement is when two or more people pray together, agreeing with what they are praying for. Jesus would not have instructed His disciples to pray in agreement if it weren’t important.

Prayer is important for anyone that is professing to be a Christian; prayer is just as important to a Christian as water to a fish. Without consistent prayer, one will become weak in their faith as well as weak in their spiritual behavior.

Prayer of agreement should be with one or two that you know by their lifestyle they can get a prayer answered. Everyone praying is not getting their prayer answered because they either live a carnal lifestyle or don’t have faith in what they’re praying for.

Satan has brought division and disunity among Christians, and sadly to say, but true, Christians are afraid to pray with other Christians because they don’t know if they can trust them with what they need prayer for, and it should not be.

Not only do we need prayer for personal needs, but as you look at the Media, the world is in trouble. Christians coming together in prayer would change a lot of things that are happening in the world. God does not move until He hears someone praying.

King Herod harassed the church; he killed James, the brother of James, and he placed Peter in prison because they were Christians and they were leading people to Christ. Their intention was to wait until Easter to bring Peter before the people.

The Bible says the church was praying for Peter without ceasing. The church prayed so until God sent an angel to set Peter free from prison. God is still sending angels to deliver His people; He’s waiting to hear the request of His people.

King Nebuchadnezzar dreamt a dream that troubled him, but after awakening from the dream, he could not remember what the dream was about, but he wanted the Chaldeans to tell him the dream and then give him an interpretation of the dream. Because neither the Chaldeans nor the magicians could tell him the dream, he commanded that Babylon’s wise men be destroyed.

The king was asking something that was impossible, he couldn’t remember the dream, but he wanted someone else to tell him what he dreamed, and give him the interpretation. What was impossible with man was possible with God.

Daniel and his companions had been brought to Babylon for such a time as needed. Daniel heard about the commandment the king had requested. Daniel asked the king to give him time so that he would be able to give the king the interpretation.

Daniel went home and told his friends about the king’s commandment about destroying all the wise men. Daniel and his friends went into prayer for God to reveal the dream. God revealed the dream and gave Daniel the interpretation of the dream.

Just as God heard and answered the church prayers for Peter, and Daniel’s prayer for revelation, God is still answering prayers, but He needs someone to be praying! Prayer is needed; take time to pray. If your church has a day of prayer, attend. If they have a prayer line, join the prayer line. Ask God to give you a prayer partner, and begin to pray for lost souls, peace, safety, and whatever God places on your heart to pray about. The God we serve is a prayer answering God. He’s waiting for His people to pray, will you meet Him in prayer?
