The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit – Psalm 34:18.
Many have done or said things they regret; the problem occurs when we allow our past to dictate our lives and sabotage our future.
One can’t move to the future if one continues to allow the past to dictate their life. Guilt and shame replay in their minds like a tape recorder. Bringing things to their memory, the things said and done. When we ask God to forgive us, it does not matter what others may say or think.
We can’t change our past, but we can plan our future. Memories of the past can bring one into depression, oppression, and suppression, blocking your thoughts from going forward. Old thoughts can destroy relationships between husbands and wives. Thinking about what someone else did or said to you and your spouse have no idea of what was done or said.
In life, we will have hurt no matter what form it comes in, but we don’t have to hold on to it like baggage. Sometimes we continue to feel guilty about things we said and done, but after asking God to forgive us, we continue to hold on to it like a security blanket. Ask God to help you to forgive yourself.
Sometimes God will allow us to be broken for us to run to Him; when we allow pride to come into our hearts and think we did it all on our own without recognition to God, He will allow pride to continue until we become broken in hearts and spirits.
We may have allowed people to break us in our minds, hearts, and spirit, and will it take God to mend the broken pieces. There’s nothing that is broken that God can’t use to bring glory to Himself and bring a blessing to what was meant to destroy you.
Hannah was broken in her spirit, but God healed her spirit, and let others see her blessings come from what was broken. God created you; He spoke destiny over your life, don’t allow people to dictate your life of what you should be or can’t be.
Let that brokenness in your life be a stepping stone to bring forth what God has placed in you. You can accomplish and be whatever you set your heart and mind to be. If your brokenness came about because of what you have done. Allow God to heal you; God is not angry with you. He wants the best for you; come to Him with sincerity asking for help.
Don’t put people first before you seek God for help; people can never do for you what God can do. He will not only hear your problem and concerns. He will take care of your problems and concerns. He repairs and fixes what people can’t do.
Many women suffer from depression; depression has many varied meanings and levels of intensity. A general definition of depression could be an overwhelming feeling of sadness, disappointment, as well as frustration.
Depression can last anywhere from a few minutes to months or years. Anxiety, much like depression, also varies in degrees of intensity and throughout the years. Depression and anxiety can be helped, first with prayer, and believing God’s promises are for you. He doesn’t want you depressed or in anxiety because neither one of these come from God.
Sometimes we may need counseling, but if you seek one, make sure they are faith-based. God will use counselors to walk you through what you’re going through but never seek counselors or anyone else before you seek God in prayer for your healing and deliverance.
Jesus came to set the captive free, and that’s not just for salvation. Whatever or whoever has you captive, Jesus came to set you free. Place your confidence in what He has done for you. God loves you with unconditional love, except His love and peace!
