Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them – Mark 11:24.

Jesus taught His followers to pray, He didn’t give a certain time or day, or how many times of the day to pray or a certain place or position to pray, He said to pray.

Neither did He say when your prayer would be answered, and because we often don’t receive an answer, we stop praying and go into wishful thinking. We can place our trust and confidence in Jesus and His promise. You will always receive an answer to prayer, whether it’s no, yes, or later. We have trouble with the later answer.

All prayers aren’t answered instantaneously, you have to pray until you get an answer. First, make sure your prayer is not against God’s Word or His character. God is not going to answer a prayer that goes against His godly principles.

If you’re holding on to unforgiveness or offense, your prayer will not be answered (And when ye stand praying, forgive, if you have aught against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses – Mark 11:25). For your prayers to be heard and answered, we must forgive and release people.

We must ask to receive what we need from the Father, pride will keep us from receiving what we need. That was one of the reasons Satan was cast out of heaven for rebellion and pride. Pride is what has kept many from receiving from the Father because they think they can do it on their own, too proud to ask for help.

When the thought comes to your mind not to pray, know that’s the influence of the Adversary. Jesus said man should always pray and faint not, meaning not to give up, and trust your concerns to the Father. Ask Him to supply your needs and be willing to wait patiently for your answer.

Every time you pray, Jesus takes your prayer request and relays them to the Father, Jesus is always interceding on your behalf, so don’t feel like you’re not being heard, your prayers are not being answered. You will receive an answer, continue to pray and trust Jesus and the Father with your prayer request.
