And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint [lose heart] – Luke 18:1.

Prayer changes situations, and it also changes us; this is why so many struggle to pray. When we start our day with prayer, it sets us up to handle whatever may come our way that day.

Prayer is essential to our well-being. A consistent prayer life will enable one not to enter into depression or hopelessness. Prayer is a shield around our souls. Prayer is not always asking for something; it could be a grateful heart, a song, or a praise.

Prayer strengthens our faith, and it builds our relationship with our heavenly Father. Prayer opens the doors for God to bless us. When we pray for others, God blesses us with our needs sometimes without us asking.

Our prayers bless others, and as we bless others, we will be blessed. There will come a time you will need someone to pray for you, and because of your faithfulness in praying for others, God will place you on someone heart and mind to pray for you.

What you sow into other lives will give you a good return (Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap – Galatians 6:7). Prayer brings about blessings both naturally and spiritually when we pray for others.

Count it an honor that God gives you the privilege to pray for others. That means He trusts you to pray for His people. Praying is not always for ourselves and family; it’s about praying for other people’s needs. The more you pray for others, the more you will begin to see the world through the eyes and heart of God.

Prayer is not boring when you love the one you’re talking to. Prayer fine-tunes our ears to what He is saying and being guided by His Spirit and not ours. Make the Lord first, and you will see the rewards of making Him first. When we make Him first, we’re telling Him that He’s important to us, and we will not allow anything or anyone to take His place.
