The Adversary will make you think if you’re not married, you will be alone, which is a lie that has caused many to marry the wrong person, to get into relationships and actions they should not be in whether they’re a believer or a non-believer.
Although God created Eve for Adam, and He said that man should not be alone, so He made Adam a helpmeet does not mean that everyone was meant to be married. Marriage does not mean you will not be alone; many are alone and lonely as those that are not married because they married the wrong person for the wrong reasons.
Marriage should be for a lifetime or until one of them dies. Today, divorce is like purchasing a car; after driving it, you decide you want to trade it in for another one. Marriage is not for keeping one from being alone or lonely.
Marriage does not make a person as some think; whatever you are or not, you will be the same when you marry; sometimes, it may come to the point of not being who you should be because of marrying the wrong reason.
Loneliness is a state of mind, but if you have the right relationship with God, you are never alone. The Adversary feeds on women’s emotions because he’s aware some women want and needs attention, and some will go to the extreme to get it.
He got Eve’s attention in the Garden of Eden when he began questioning her about what tree they were not allowed to eat from. He influenced her to eat the forbidden fruit, and she, in turn, influenced her husband to eat the forbidden fruit, and they both died spiritually.
The Adversary speaks to your emotions and says it must be something wrong with you because you’re not married. Did it occur to you that God has set you apart for Himself to use you as His instrument to minister to single people?
Each of us was born for a reason, and we have a talent and a gift that God wants to use. He didn’t create you to be alone or lonely. His presence is always at your disposal so that you will not be alone. Keeping your mind occupied with positive things will keep the Adversary from placing things in your mind that shouldn’t be there.
God is a very present help when we feel lonely and alone. He’s a great company keeper, try Him, and you will see, He’s there, just waiting for you to talk to Him.
