And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight – Numbers 13:33.

We will face giants whether we’re Christians or nonbelievers; what we believe will determine our outcome.

God promised the Israelites that He was giving them a land filled with milk and honey, that is, a land with an abundance of water for their cattle, plenty of vegetation, and would be fruitful. He didn’t tell them they would have to fight for the land, and there would be giants.

Moses sent ten spies to scout the land. They saw the fruit and the giants. Eight of them came back with an evil report that would discourage the others. They saw themselves as grasshoppers in the eyes of the giants, and what they thought so would the giants.

God gives us many blessings, but the majority of the time, to receive the blessings, we must fight fear. We have to fight the spirit of distraction, anxiety, nonbelief, and other hindrances that come to try to influence us not to do what God has placed in our hearts to do.

Our faith is built on the time we spend with God and His Word. The enemy will give you all types of excuses to keep you from that. If God promised you He was going to bless you with a home or business, whatever it may be, you have to stay firm in your faith. The giants of “I can’t do it” will come. Maybe that was me thinking that was God; that’s too big for me to accomplish. I don’t have the education and qualifications for that. Giants come in many forms, but you have to remember you have the Greater One living in you.

God will never promise you something and not fulfill His promise. Don’t see yourself as a grasshopper, but a woman of valiant; you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Stay connected with God in prayer, and be willing to fight for what you want. Don’t take down, when you hear God say it, you believe it and stand firm in your faith.

The blessings of the Lord make rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.
