Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest – Joshua 1:9.
When things aren’t going our way, sometimes we want to give up rather than push forward. We will never reach our goal if we can’t stand pressure.
Life is not easy; we go through many bumpy roads on the way to our destiny. God spoke destiny over you before you were born. Because He spoke, destiny doesn’t mean you have nothing to do but walk into it. God had spoken destiny over Joseph to be the governor of Egypt, but before he walked into his destiny, he was thrown into a pit by his brothers.
Afterwards, he was sold to Potiphar, the captain of the Egyptian guards. Potiphar’s wife lied about him because he wouldn’t commit adultery with her; he was thrown in prison for the lie. Joseph was seventeen years old when he began his journey toward his destiny.
Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. For thirteen years, Joseph went through hardship, but he didn’t lose faith in God, nor did he blame God for what he was going through because he had a relationship with God and he knew God’s character.
Whether we’re a Christian or a nonbeliever, we will go through difficulties, but we shouldn’t allow what we’re going through to make us fault God or backslide and return to the world’s way of thinking and actions. As a Christian woman, if a seventeen-year-old can be steadfast in his faith in God, surely we can.
God allows difficulties to come into our lives to build character and persistence. Trouble will make you pray, so to get us to pray, He allows trouble to come to build our faith in Him and not ourselves. There is nothing wrong with having faith in yourself; the problem comes when we think we did it on our own without the help of God ( I Am the vine, ye are the branches; He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing – John 15:5). Abide in Him consist of fellowshiping with Him, read and study His Word then you will be strong in spirit so that whatever comes against you, your faith will be in God and not what you’re seeing, hearing or feeling.
Difficulties will either draw you to God, or they will make you lose faith; it all depends on how strong your faith is. Build yourself spiritually through prayer, fasting, reading, and studying God’s Word, as well as applying His Word to your life daily. As a Christian woman, you have an adversary, and he does not want you to reach your destiny naturally or spiritually.
If we can imagine what we want, God will enable you to do it. He can bless you abundantly above what you can ask or think. Whether you know it or not, it is God who gives us imaginations, and then He fulfills the plans He has placed in you. God wants you to be successful both naturally and spiritually. He does not want you to be rich naturally and poor spiritually.
Be determined to reach your destiny and enjoy the life God and you have planned.
