Let your conversation [conduct] be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee – Hebrews 13:5.

Contentment is something most women find hard to have. So many can’t find contentment with who they are. They’re not satisfied with their complexion, weight, or their height. So many spend thousands of dollars to prove to people that they don’t know they’re successful.

Being dissatisfied with self has made many covet what someone else looks like or has. As many women there are in the world, each has a different fingerprint and footprint. God has made us different, and He made us fearful and wonderfully made.

Yes, some skin tones are darker than others, and people spend thousands of dollars to get the skin tone you were born with. Some have been made to think if you don’t have a certain skin tone, you can’t make it in life successfully.

The God that created you is the Creator of the universe; when you submit your life to Him, it does not matter what your skin tone is. He will make you succeed in the things you apply yourself to be successful in. Many use the excuse of the color of their skin because they don’t want to sacrifice themselves for what they want to pursue in life.

Sadly, some have lost their lives because they were trying to make themselves thinner. Others have given themselves a disorder because they want to eat, but because they were created to be a certain weight when they eat without temperance, they gain weight.

A size five or ten does not make you beautiful; you were created in beauty because God created you. Whatever God does, it’s in excellent. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder; if people are looking at you through the eyes of God, they will see beauty. If they look at you through their eyes, they will see something totally different than what you are. This is why we have been admonished to have the mind of Christ and the heart of God; in doing this, we will see people as God sees them.

Contentment is worth more than all the material possessions you and I could possibly accumulate in a lifetime. Nothing we have or will obtain is worth anything if we’re not satisfied inside. Many women don’t have a relationship with God, so they are empty inside, and they’re trying to fill their emptiness with things they think will make them content.

Contentment is a decision to be happy with what we have right where we are. This does not mean we have to accept everything that’s going on in our lives and never want change. It’s good to want things to improve in ourselves, others, and the world around us. But while we’re hoping and striving for better days, we can learn to enjoy where we are on the way to where we’re going.
