Be careful [anxious] for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God – Philippians 4:6.

Anxiety is worry or uneasiness about what may happen. There are various degrees of anxiety, ranging from concern to fear and dread. Anxiety can make one make the wrong choice that will cause years to recover from, and some have not recovered from acting too soon.

Anytime your emotions influence you with anxiety, know that it is the enemy’s influence, not God’s. First of all, God has instructed us not to worry; we’re told not to fret, not to fear, so since He has instructed us not to do these things, He will never tell us to do something, He has instructed us not to do it!

Sometimes we worry about tomorrow rather than thinking about today, the present, not the future. A Scottish Preacher, George MacDonald, said, “No man ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when tomorrow’s burdens are added to the burden of today that the weight is more than a man can bear”.

Life brings issues and problems; either we’re going to conquer them with the help of God, or we will try to handle them ourselves and make matters worse. We can mess up some stuff; then, we get anxious and fretful about how we will correct our mess.

Often times we rush into things because God is not moving fast enough for us, so we need to help Him out. Most of the time, when God does not answer us immediately, He’s waiting to see how long we will wait and trust Him for the answer.

Sometimes He does not move immediately because it’s not in His timing to give it to you. If we received everything immediately, we would treat God like a genie; which way should I rub Him to get what I want? God knows our thoughts before we can even complete the thought, so we can’t make Him do anything, no matter how we try, if it’s not the time for the prayer to be answered.

When your prayer is not answered in the time frame you think it should be answered, ask God why? If He does not reply, be quiet and wait until He answers the prayer. Don’t get anxious; God knows what’s going on and what will happen better than you do.

God is concerned about every area of your life; don’t allow anxiety to hinder your prayer from being answered because anxiety is really unbelief. Without faith, we can’t please God. Anxiety will make you miss the plan of God.

When you pray, believe God heard and will answer your prayer. If it’s something that needs to be taken care of immediately, God will do it; if it’s something that’s a desire and not a need, most likely, you’re going to have to wait. In your waiting, build your faith in God and His Word, know that if it’s a need, God will supply the need because He has promised, and His Word will not return to Him void.
