For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this – Esther 4:14.
Everyone was born for a purpose, it wasn’t to get as many houses, cars, or degrees as we can. All that is good, and God wants you to prosper, but that is not the main purpose for your life according to God’s plan.
Esther was the first cousin of Mordecai, he raised her after the death of his uncle and his wife. Esther became queen when Vashti refused to come before the king when requested to come before him and his guest to show off her beauty.
Haman was promoted and was given a higher position than all the other officials. Mordecai sat at the king’s gate and all the king’s staff would bow in Haman’s presence except for Mordecai. Haman became very angry with Mordecai and decided to destroy Mordecai and all the Jews when he became aware that Mordecai was a Jew along with Mordecai not bowing in his presence.
Haman informed the king that there was one ethnic group scattered throughout the 127 providences whose laws were different than the king’s laws and they defied the king’s laws. The king was informed that he didn’t have to tolerate their defiance. Haman requested the king’s approval to authorize their destruction. With this approval, Haman said he would pay 375 tons of silver to be deposited in the royal treasure.
After finding out Haman’s plan, Mordecai informed Esther what was about to happen to the Jewish people. He requested her to go before the king. The problem was Esther had not been called before the king within thirty days. If the king didn’t hold out his scepter to approve her entrance, she could die.
Esther purposed in her heart that if she was going die it would be for the sake of saving her people. She requested that she and her maidens would fast, instructed Mordecai to gather all the Jews in Shushan, and requested that they fast and she would go before the king. Spiritually speaking, we have a king we can go to anytime night or day. He is on call 24/24 waiting and listening to hear the prayers of His people.
Our King is king over all flesh and over all spirits. Our King wants us to approach His throne whenever we desire. We don’t have to go to a priest, we don’t have to jump over hoops and different flips to have access to Him. Thank God for pastors, but we don’t have to go to pastors for them to go before God for us, Jesus gives us access to the Father.
Christian women, you are the Esthers, and you are much needed for the saving of many lives. Your prayers will save many from the slaughter of Satan destroying lives spiritually and physically before they can enter the kingdom of God.
Your prayers for the lost will save people all over the world from entering into a hell where there is no exit. You dying to yourself by fasting and calling out to God in prayer is what is going to save many nations from the death penalty for sin.
Protest and walk-a-thons aren’t going to stop the bullets, it’s not going to stop the overdoses, prayer is what God is seeking and searching to see who will stand in the gap. Never think your prayers aren’t worthwhile. Prayer holds back the influence and actions of Satan.
Prayer is two-fold, it will change situations and circumstances, and it will also change the person that is praying giving out a double blessing. Come on Esthers from far and near, gird yourself, put on your weaponry, and begin to fight for the nations in prayer and fasting. You have been called for such a time as this.
