Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore, I will deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him – Psalm 91:14-15.
Whether one is a believer or a non-believer, life will bring trial, tests, pain, and hurt, along with Satan’s subtle attacks.
Jesus said in this world we would have tests and trials (These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world – John 16:33). Being a Christian does not exempt them from trials and tribulations. So, we can’t get away from the Bible saying we will have trouble in this life. There are many tests and trials for the righteous, but God promised to deliver the righteous out of them all!
When tests and trials come, faith comes in. You have to use your faith in the midst of the storm to believe God will deliver you. This is called NOW FAITH! The storms of life test your faith, but even in the midst of a storm, your faith in God and His Word can grow stronger.
Exercising your faith during life’s tests and trials is one way to build your faith muscles. People exercise to gain muscles; the more they exercise, the stronger their muscles. Let your faith be rooted and grounded in God and His Word when tests and trials come.
How do you put your faith to work against a trial or test? First, meditate on the fact Jesus is your Deliverer in the midst of any trial you may face. Then hold fast to your confession of faith that you are then a conqueror through Jesus Christ (Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us – Romans 8:37). Proclaim with the assurance that you’ll come out of the trial victoriously because God is on your side; He will never forsake or leave you.
You must remember that if God allows it, He’ll make sure you come out of it. Neither life nor Satan can bring anything into your life unless they get permission from God. What He allowed is either taking something out of you or putting something in you. What you’re going through is not for naught; something is happening spiritually.
We need to realize we’re living in a world where Satan is god (In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them – 2nd Corinthians 4:4). Satan is always looking for opportunities to put roadblocks in our paths, and if we’re not careful to walk in obedience to the Word, we can unconsciously give him plenty of opportunities to try to hinder us.
When the Spirit of God indwells your being, you are equipped to win. You have the Spirit that rosed Jesus from the dead. You have the Spirit of God in you that controls everything and has power over everything. What you’re going through is a faith builder. Jesus has given you the power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt or destroy you.
