And Mary said, Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her – Luke 1:38.
One of the historic fundamentals of faith is the virgin birth of Christ. It begins with the supernatural conception of Jesus Christ in the womb of Mary without the seed of man; Mary is the only one who has given birth to a child without the assistance of a man.
The birth of Jesus was miraculous, and some worship Mary as though she were a deity which is contradictory to who the believer should be worshipping. Mary was chosen by God to be the mother of our Saviour. When she was confronted by the angel Gabriel that she was going to give birth, Mary didn’t have second thoughts about the consequences of her choosing to give birth to a child without being married.
In those days, if a woman became pregnant without marriage, she was stoned to death. Mary had a yes in her heart to do whatever God wanted her to do. God is looking for some more Marys to give birth to spiritual babies and is willing to suffer the consequences of their choice. Women are willing to suffer the consequences of sin, why not choose the consequences of doing righteousness?
To live a godly life in a world that is fixated on sin would be a righteous choice. Our children, teenagers, and young women are in need of godly women to mentor them. To teach them Biblical principles, to teach them that they can succeed in life without stooping to sin.
Many children are in homes where the name of Jesus is not mentioned, and children aren’t aware of the need for prayer for protection or the wisdom to excel academically. Children have been placed on the hit list by Satan, and if our children don’t know how to counter-attack the enemy, they may be one of his victims. If the mothers aren’t shielding them from the enemy by prayer, our children are in trouble.
Women are the ones who keep the family together; it’s the women who should be on the prayer wall if the spouse is not the priest of the home. It is women who will call a prayer meeting with other women to attack the kingdom of Satan. It is women that Satan will use to bring division if they’re not women of humble and meek hearts.
It is women who are willing to take the battle scars. Are you that Mary who will say “Yes Lord”, I’m willing to birth spiritual babies, I’m willing to fight to see others delivered by prayer and fasting? I’m willing to say what you tell me to say, I’m willing to go where You would have me to go. I’m willing to keep peace and unity, and not division.
It’s always a blessing to be what God desires you to be; it comes with a process, but after the process, your blessings are guaranteed! The world needs some Marys who will sit at the feet of Jesus in prayer, reading and studying His Word to bring others to Jesus. Fasting for lost souls, deliverance, healing and restoration.
If you’re willing to have Mary’s heart, God will prepare you for the task and then bless you as you be a blessing to others through your dedication.
