Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much-James 5:16
As women, we carry many hats, and it’s hard for us to find time for prayer. Prayer is what keeps us connected with God, but both life and Satan will try to keep us so occupied until we find ourselves being distance from God because of the lack of prayer. God never wants us to not do what was obligated for us to do as wives, mothers, employees and such, but he never wants us to allow life needs to remove our spiritual needs.
Your first obligation is to make sure you have a good relationship with God and all the other things needed of you God will grant you the grace to do. It does not take hours of prayer in order for us to have a relationship with God but it does take sincerity. What’s prayed from the heart touches God, all it takes is fifteen minutes a day to present yourself before God for your family, the ministry you attend, neighborhood and all the bad things you see on the news, that alone will make you pray for more than an hour. If you’re the only one in your family that is a believer and is trying to please God, then you are the priest of your family and it is your responsibility to come before God in the behalf of your family’s salvation and other needs.
Attending church does not give us a relationship with God, but submission to His written Word does. God wants a relationship with you, He wants you to take time and talk to Him, He wants you to take time and read His instructions for your life and as we follow the guidelines we have a better relationship with God and with others. It’s women who cry out to God for His mercy and His grace. It is women who train their children the laws of God and the ordinance of earthly living. Make a decision that you will give God fifteen minutes of your time in prayer, take time to read His Word and allow His instructions to structure your life. God loves you and all He wants is for you to spend time with Him.
