Let your conversation (conduct) be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me – Hebrews 13:5-6.

The U.S. Census Bureau says that in the year 2000 there were 10 million single moms in America, and at this date and time, most likely it has increased. Many of whom were born-again believers. There are numerous reasons why a growing number of women find themselves the head of a one-parent home. Some have endured the pain of divorce, the death of a spouse or a pregnancy outside of wedlock. Others are still married but separated from their mates. Whatever the reason, one thing is certain, God’s faithfulness to single moms can be seen in Scripture and is evident in the lives of mothers and their children today. Hagar became the first single mother. God promised Abraham a son, but he and his wife had become old and they thought they had to give God a little assistance, so Sarah suggested to Abraham to sleep with her maid so that the promise would come to manifestation. Abraham complied with Sarah’s suggestions, and Hagar became pregnant. Once the child was born, Hagar taunted Sarah about her bareness. Sarah gave instructions to Abraham to make Hagar and her son leave their home. Hagar was sent to defend and provide for herself and her child. With no water to drink and no wells to draw from, death seemed to grow closer to Hagar and her son until God intervened.

God instructed Hagar to lift up the child and hold him with her hands to present him to God because God was going to make him a great nation. God also provided the water they needed to survive. God hasn’t changed, He’s the same today, yesterday and forever. God loves His people, and He will never forsake you or your child. God will provide by giving instructions on how to increase your income, how to get your income. He will provide twenty-four hours of protection for you and your child. Place your trust in God, place your confidence in God. He’s the God that created something out of nothing.

Present your child to God, by dedicating them to God, pray with your child, build their confidence in God. God can do for you what no one else can do. Serve Him, commit yourself to Him and His Word, and God will provide, fear doesn’t come from God, but Satan will give you fear because he knows without faith you can’t please God. Release the fear and place your trust in God. Release the shame and know that God has forgiven you when you ask for forgiveness, then you also must forgive yourself. God is not punishing you, but He will provide for you. He will remove the loneliness, He will bless you more than your mind can imagine when you place your trust in Him. You’re not alone, God is with you and He will never leave you or forsake you.
